How to Set the Day and Date on a NIBOSI Watch
Share
Most NIBOSI day-date models use a standard three-position crown. Getting the day and date right takes under a minute once you know the sequence, and knowing the one thing to avoid will keep the movement healthy for years.
Find the Crown Positions
The crown sits on the side of the case and has three positions: pushed in against the case (normal wear), pulled out one click (date adjustment), and pulled out two clicks (time and day adjustment). Move it with light, steady pressure, never force it.
Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click.
- Turn it clockwise until the correct date shows in the window.
- Push the crown back in against the case.
Setting the Day and Time
- Pull the crown out to the second click. The second hand will stop.
- Turn clockwise to move the hour and minute hands, and the day will usually advance automatically when you pass midnight.
- Set the correct time, then push the crown back in.
The Mistake to Avoid
Never adjust the date between roughly 9pm and 3am. During this window the date-change gear is already partially engaged for its automatic midnight switch, and forcing it can bend the gear teeth. If you need to set the date during this window, move the hands forward past 3am first, make the date adjustment, then set the correct time.
If the Day Shows in the Wrong Language
Some NIBOSI day-date models cycle through two languages (for example English and Spanish) on alternating days. Keep turning the crown one full day forward to land on the correct language for your day of the week.
